Requirements

As an applicant for a scholarship we expect from you that you

have completed a Diplom- or Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related field,
are fluent in English (or German) and able to document this with appropriate test results, if it is not your native language,
are interested in advanced interdisciplinary research in the field of this research training group.

You should have browsed through our web page, where you can locate research topics and research groups which you find particularly interesting.

ein Hochschulstudium in Physik, Chemie oder einem eng verwandten Fach mit Diplom oder Master abgeschlossen haben,
fließend Englisch oder Deutsch sprechen können und dies mit entsprechenden Zeugnissen belegen können, sofern es nicht Ihre Muttersprache ist,
an interdisziplinärer Forschung auf dem Gebiet dieses Graduiertenkollegs interessiert sind.

How to Apply

The application process starts with filling out the required application form. There are two ways to do this:

Online Application or
Offline Application

Which way you choose does not affect your chance to get accepted, however, we prefer you to use the "Online Application" form.
Make sure your browser allows popup windows and JavaScript is enabled before you choose "Online Application". You will receive an automated confirmation after we have received your application. Note that all the information given in the form will be sent unencrypted. If this is not acceptable to you, please use the "Offline Application" form. If your "Online Application" is successful, you will be asked to provide additional information and copies of your certificates, before the final decision about your application is made.
If you choose "Offline Application", please print out the application form, fill it out and send it together with the requested documents to: Prof. Dr. Martin Suhm, Institut für Physikalische Chemie, Tammannstrasse 6, 37077 Göttingen, Germany. Please do never send originals at this stage.

Wie funktioniert die Bewerbung?

Zunächst müssen Sie das Bewerbungsformular ausfüllen. Dabei gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten:

Online-Bewerbung bzw.
Offline-Bewerbung

Für den Ausgang der Bewerbung ist es unerheblich, welche Möglichkeit Sie wählen. Dennoch bevorzugen wir die Online-Bewerbung. Wenn Sie sich für die Online-Bewerbung entscheiden, muss Ihr Browser Popup-Fenster zulassen und Javascript muss aktiviert sein. Nach dem Abschicken des Formulars erhalten Sie eine automatisch generierte Bestätigung per e-mail über den Eingang Ihrer Bewerbung. Alle Daten werden unverschlüsselt über das Internet übetragen. Wenn Sie dies nicht wünschen, bewerben Sie sich bitte offline. Anhand der Online-Bewerbungen wird zunächst eine Vorauswahl getroffen. Wenn Ihre Online-Bewerbung erfolgreich ist, müssen Sie uns im Anschluß Kopien Ihrer Zeugnisse zuschicken, bevor eine endgültige Entscheidung getroffen wird. Die Aufforderung dazu erhalten Sie dann von uns per e-mail.
Falls Sie sich für die Offline-Bewerbung entscheiden, so drucken Sie das Bewerbungsformular aus, welches Sie unter dem untenstehenden Link erhalten. Bitte senden Sie keine Originale!

Please provide the following documents with your application:

Curriculum Vitae (English or German)

Copy of your Passport (for non-German applicants)

If you apply by regular mail, please send along all the documents with your application. If you use the "Online Application", you do not need to provide any documents prior to the preapproval. However, you have the possibility to upload your CV and/or a list of publications if available.
